Fletcher Armstrong on WLAP Radio in Lexington (podcast)

    Thanks so much. Tom is really a good interviewer. I thought he did a good job of making a simple country boy sound interesting.

    When we were talking about football, I wish I had mentioned one of my football heroes, Billy Jack Haskins. I was in Commonwealth Stadium in 1995 when Tennessee was ranked #4. Haskins just about beat Tennessee all by himself. It was quite a performance. He made a 47-yard touchdown run that amazes even today. It won multiple “Play of the Year” awards. Nobody who was there will ever forget it. As I recall, he was injured that day and even had to have his left shoulder popped back into place during the game. That part might be legend … I don’t know. Anyway, that was one of the greatest football games and one of the greatest individual performances I’ve ever seen … and I’ve seen a bunch.

    Haskins’ run was the first play of the 4th quarter, at about 59:30 on this video:
