Your humble correspondent was interviewed by Tom Dupree on WLAP Radio, the Rush Limbaugh station in Lexington. To listen to the podcast, click here.
This interview was aired on Sunday morning, October 26. Tom is a great interviewer. We covered a lot of serious ground, but it was fun, too. Hope you enjoy listening.
History is clear on this point: injustice can be defeated only by reformers who confront evil and accept persecution from angry defenders of the status quo. People who exploit others are enraged when their cruel tyranny is threatened. When William Wilberforce used pictures to win the debate over slavery, he was attacked in the newspapers, physically assaulted, and even threatened with death. But he showed the pictures anyway.
Conflict is not only an indicator that the status quo is threatened; it is also a facilitator of change. It focuses public attention in ways nothing else will. Dr. Martin Luther King said, “I am not afraid of the word ‘tension.’ I have earnestly opposed violent tension, but there is a type of constructive, nonviolent tension which is necessary for growth.” This tension created a public forum in which racists were forced to defend segregation. They could not do it, so the reformers won.
It seems that CBR Maryland’s presence is becoming well known in the Washington-Baltimore area. “Jack” recently posted the following on Facebook, next to a photo of our Black Genocide Awareness Project display:
Jack ——-, August 25:
I saw these guys at the March yesterday and they really bothered me – they show up at most big events in DC, like a bloody wet blanket. Dear Bloody Baby Guys, I see your oversized panels of blood, guts and tiny human parts at most large gatherings on the Mall and it offends me. But frankly you bore me, and I can’t take you seriously and you all are aggressively annoying and I think, intellectually dishonest.
Unbeknownst to Jack, one of his own Facebook friends was CBR Maryland volunteer David, who responded, instigating the following conversation:
David ——-, August 25:
Hi Jack. If you continued down to the second to last sign on the left you would have found me. I didn’t see you there so maybe you didn’t see that at least 6 of our members were women. For the most part people seemed interested, shook my hand, and thanked me for being there.
Jack ——-, August 25:
Dave, I am proud to call you a friend and neighbor! Much love back at ya! Please answer this, Dave, why the giant gross-out signs? Such a negative presence, I personally don’t like them, but further I can’t imagine they win many to your cause. For every one person you may win I suspect you drive away 20!
David ——-, August 25:
I believe that it is important to put a real face on the victims of abortion just as for years we have put a real face on the victims of poverty, war, human trafficking. You know this from Time, Life, and so on. Young people who see these images begin conversations because they are so shocking and then we instantly have another pro-lifer for the rest of her/his life. Never does it work in the reverse unless that person is nuts. 40 years of legal abortion on demand at any stage of fetal development and very little change in public policy because when people say choice they think “reproductive health rights”. The images will help associate “choice” or “right to choose” with the true end product of the wrong choice, a dead baby.
Tim ——-, August 25:
I think that was a great explanation.
Jack’s comments are proof positive that, despite the media blackout, pro-lifers can still succeed in getting their message across to the community. If it can be done in DC, it can be done anywhere! If this is what we can do with a mere sixteen volunteers, image what would be possible with a hundred or more!
Watch a hemoglobin molecule being manufactured inside a cell … in real time. As you watch the video, try to convince yourself that this molecular manufacturing assembly line (and millions more just like it) evolved from primordial soup by cosmic accident. If you don’t see evidence of design, you might be a religious fanatic. Just sayin’.
This animation comes from the good folks at the Discovery Institute. See detailed description here.
When the right transfer molecule plugs in, the amino acid it carries is added to the growing protein chain. Again, you are watching this in real time. After a few seconds, the assembled protein starts to emerge from the ribosome.
In this case, the end product is hemoglobin. The cells in our bone marrow churn out 100 trillion molecules it per second.
Somebody sent me this. Wish I had written it.
Why Carry a Gun?
I don’t carry a gun to kill people.
I carry a gun to keep from being killed.
I don’t carry a gun to scare people.
I carry a gun because sometimes this world can be a scary place.
I don’t carry a gun because I’m paranoid.
I carry a gun because there are real threats in the world.
I don’t carry a gun because I’m evil.
I carry a gun because I have lived long enough to see the evil in the world.
I don’t carry a gun because I hate the government.
I carry a gun because I understand the limitations of government.
I don’t carry a gun because I’m angry.
I carry a gun so that I don’t have to spend the rest of my life hating myself for failing to be prepared.
I don’t carry a gun because I want to shoot someone.
I carry a gun because I want to die at a ripe old age in my bed, and not on a sidewalk somewhere tomorrow afternoon.
I don’t carry a gun to make me feel like a man.
I carry a gun because men know how to take care of themselves and the ones they love.
I don’t carry a gun because I feel inadequate.
I carry a gun because unarmed and facing three armed thugs, I am inadequate.
I don’t carry a gun because I love it.
I carry a gun because I love life and the people who make it meaningful to me.
Police protection is an oxymoron. Free citizens must protect themselves.
Police do not protect you from crime, they usually just investigate the crime after it happens and then call someone in to clean up the mess.
Personally, I carry a gun because I’m too young to die and too old to take a whoopin’
— Author unknown, but obviously brilliant
As we look around at our own country, we can’t help but feel like exiles.
We live in a land where most people seem willing to casually discard the dear freedoms that our forefathers fought and died to preserve. In fact, the only freedoms that seem to mean much in our culture are the freedoms to (a) have sex without responsibility, (b) kill our own children, and (c) steal from others by force, i.e., collect taxes from others under threat of incarceration, to buy free stuff for ourselves.
But God wrote a letter to His people in exile. In Jeremiah 29, God sent a message to the Israelites in Babylon, telling them about his plans for their future:
- I have a plan for you.
- The plan is exile. YIKES! The exile will last 70 years. (Bible scholars will be interested to see how this prophecy would be fulfilled to the very day, as detailed in the notes below.)
- Build houses, plant gardens, and eat of the produce.
- Marry off your children, and increase in number. (The next generation of Christians must avoid the mistake of having small families.)
- Seek the peace and prosperity of the city to which I have carried you into exile. Pray to the Lord for it, because if it prospers, you too will prosper.

Notes on the 70-year Babylonian Captivity
by Chuck Missler (taken from Jeremiah, the Patriotic Prophet)
Among his many prophecies, Jeremiah predicted that the duration of the Babylonian captivity would be precisely 70 years.
(In fact, it was when the captive Daniel was reading Jeremiah’s prophetic writings that he undertook serious prayer, which was then interrupted by the Angel Gabriel who gave him the famed Seventy Week Prophecy. Jesus later highlighted this very passage as the key to end-time prophecy. )
The reason the judgment of the captivity was to be exactly 70 years is highlighted in 2 Chronicles (2 Chronicles 36:20, 21):
And them that had escaped from the sword carried he away to Babylon; where they were servants to him and his sons until the reign of the kingdom of Persia:
To fulfil the word of the LORD by the mouth of Jeremiah, until the land had enjoyed her sabbaths: for as long as she lay desolate she kept sabbath, to fulfil threescore and ten years.
Apparently, for 490 years they had failed to keep the sabbath of the land; the Lord was saying, in effect, “You owe me 70!”
The “servitude of the nation” began with the first siege of Nebuchadnezzar in 606 B.C. and ended with the release of the Jewish captives when Cyrus the Great conquered Babylon in 539 B.C.
This 70-year period is not to be confused with a similar 70-year period, called “the desolations of Jerusalem,” which began with the third siege of Nebuchadnezzar. Each was fulfilled to the very day.
It is instructive to note the remarkable precision of the Scriptures: The city of Jerusalem was invaded on the tenth day of the tenth month, Tebeth, in the ninth year of Zedekiah in 589 B.C. (And for 25 centuries this day has been observed as a fast by Jews in every land.)
Scripture clearly indicates that this era closed on “the four and twentieth day of the ninth month, [Kislev] even from the day that the foundation of the LORD’S temple was laid,” which was in 520 B.C. This is an interval of precisely 25,200 days, or seventy 360-day years.
This lady has hit it right on.
Laura Hollis penned this analysis of the American electorate soon after the 2012 elections. It’s still as current today as the day she wrote it, well worth your time to read it. Ms. Hollis is a Professor of Law at Notre Dame University and a regular columnist for Townhall.com.
We are outnumbered. … There are fewer of us who believe in the value of free exchange and free enterprise. There are fewer of us who do not wish to demonize successful people in order to justify taking from them. We are outnumbered. For the moment. It’s just that simple.
It wasn’t the candidate(s). No matter who we ran this year, they would have lost.
It’s the culture, stupid. We have been trying to fight this battle every four years at the voting booth. It is long past time we admit that is not where the battle really is. We abdicated control of the culture – starting back in the 1960s. And now our largest primary social institutions – education, the media, Hollywood (entertainment) have become really nothing more than an assembly line for cranking out reliable little Leftists. Furthermore, we have allowed the government to undermine the institutions that instill good character – marriage, the family, communities, schools, our churches. So, here we are, at least two full generations later – we are reaping what we have sown. It took nearly fifty years to get here; it will take another fifty years to get back. But it starts with the determination to reclaim education, the media, and the entertainment business. If we fail to do that, we can kiss every election goodbye from here on out. And much more.
America has become a nation of adolescents. The real loser in this election was adulthood: Maturity. Responsibility.
But what did win? Sex. Drugs. Bad language. Bad manners. Vulgarity. Lies. Cheating. Name-calling. Finger-pointing. Blaming. And irresponsible spending. This does not bode well. People grow up one of two ways: either they choose to, or circumstances force them to. … It is unpleasant to think about the circumstances it will take to force Americans to grow up.
Suffice it to say that the only “war on women” was the one waged by the Obama campaign, which sexualized and objectified women, featuring them dressed up like vulvas at the Democrat National Convention, appealing to their “lady parts,” comparing voting to losing your virginity with Obama, trumpeting the thrills of destroying our children in the womb (and using our daughters in commercials to do so), and making Catholics pay for their birth control.
It’s not about giving up on “social issues.” … We defend the unborn because we understand that a society which views some lives as expendable is capable of viewing all lives as expendable. We defend family – mothers, fathers, marriage, children – because history makes it quite clear that societies without intact families quickly descend into anarchy and barbarism, …
The Corrupt Media – is the enemy too strong? I don’t think so. I have been watching the media try to throw elections since at least the early 1990s. In 2008 and again this year, we saw the media cravenly cover up for the incompetence and deceit of this President, while demonizing a good, honorable and decent man with lies and smears. This is on top of the daily barrage of insults that conservatives (and by that I mean the electorate, not the politicians) must endure at the hands of this arrogant bunch of elitist snobs.
Small business and entrepreneurs will be hurt the worst. For all the blather about “Wall Street versus Main Street ,” Obama’s statist agenda will unquestionably benefit the biggest corporations which – as with the public sector unions – are in the best position to make campaign donations, hire lobbyists, and get special exemptions carved out from Obama’s health care laws, his environmental regulations, his labor laws.
America is more polarized than ever; and this time it’s personal. I’ve been following politics for a long time, and it feels different this time. Not just for me. I’ve received messages from other conservatives who are saying the same thing: there is little to no tolerance left out there for those who are bringing this country to its knees – even when they have been our friends. It isn’t just about “my guy” versus “your guy.” It is my view of America versus your view of America – a crippled, hemorrhaging, debt-laden, weakened and dependent America that I want no part of and resent being foisted on me. I no longer have any patience for stupidity, blindness, or vulgarity, so with each dumb “tweet” or FB post by one of my happily lefty comrades, another one bites the dust, for me.
It’s possible that America just has to hit rock bottom. I truly believe that most Americans who voted for Obama have no idea what they are in for.

Very interesting article by Sarah Terzo summarizing reporters’ comments after actually seeing abortion. Reading her piece reminded of an article written by Dr. Richard Selzer years ago, entitled What I Saw at the Abortion. He talked about the effect of actually seeing an abortion:
And it has happened that you cannot reason with me now. For what can language do against the truth of what I saw?
More about that in a minute. First, here are some of the best quotes from Ms. Terzo’s piece:
I felt a profound and unmistakable kinship with the foot and hand in the tray, a kinship so strong it was like the rolling of the sea under my feet. (Harper’s Magazine author Verlyn Klinkenborg)
But the nurses, medical assistants, and doctors who worked inside procedure rooms … knew that an eleven-week-old POC harbored tiny arms and legs and feet with toes. (author Sue Hertz, who spent a year observing abortions a busy abortion clinic) [FAB: POC = products of conception]
I have seen this before. The face of a Russian soldier, lying on a frozen snow covered hill, stiff with death and cold. … A death factory is the same anywhere, and the agony of early death is the same anywhere. (author Magda Denes)
Having seen what I saw, I cannot for a moment abide the disingenuousness of those who argue that a fetus is not human, or those who convince themselves that abortion is not killing. (Newsday reporter B.D. Colen, who witnessed a 2nd-trimester D&E abortion)
As I left the operating room, I shook my head in an attempt to get the horrible vision out of my head. I couldn’t. It was there; it would always be there: a little hand…a little rib cage. (former medical student)

In 1976, Dr. Richard Selzer was a surgeon at Yale University. In January of that year, he authored an essay entitled “What I Saw at the Abortion,” which appeared in, of all places, Esquire Magazine. In this piece, he described witnessing a prostaglandin-injection abortion performed at 24 weeks gestation. Referring to the spirited fight put up by the preborn child in the defense of his own life, Selzer concluded:
Whatever else is said in abortion’s defense, the vision of that other defense will not vanish from my eyes. … And it has happened that you cannot reason with me now. For what can language do against the truth of what I saw?
Indeed, what can lying words and sophistry do against undeniable truth?
Earlier this year, Simcha Fisher posted her essay entitled Eight Reasons Not to Use Graphic Abortion Images at the March for Life at the National Catholic Register Online. Center for Bio-Ethical Reform (CBR) Executive Director Gregg Cunningham, perhaps the world’s premier pro-life strategist, responds.
Eight Reasons or No Reason to Put Away Abortion Photos?
by Gregg Cunningham
In a National Catholic Register online essay titled “Eight Reasons Not to Use Graphic Abortion Images at the March for Life,” Simcha Fisher concedes that “Americans are tragically ignorant about what abortion really is …” but then lurches to the non sequitur that abortion photos should never be shown in public, and then only “as a last resort” in private. The mainstream pro-life movement has covered up the horror of abortion for forty years, and now wonders why the public is still not horrified by abortion. The result has been a failure to outlaw abortion — anywhere, and at any point in pregnancy — and fifty million dead babies!
Had Martin Luther King displayed lynching photos only in “private,” and only “as a last resort,” black people would still be drinking from segregated water fountains. Dr. King instead commissioned the making of sickening photos and then urged their widespread publication and broadcast. The result was the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the Voting Rights Act of 1965.
The history of social reform is the history of horrifying pictures: Pictures of slaves being tortured to death; pictures of Native American women and children massacred by the U.S. Calvary; pictures of African Americans beaten to their knees for trying to register to vote; pictures of little children abused in mines and factories. These pictures traumatized children just like those Ms. Fisher seeks to shelter at the March For Life. But the imagery also convinced the country that the victims were real people, fully entitled to rights of personhood. It additionally persuaded the electorate that the injustices depicted therein were sufficiently egregious to warrant criminalization.
Many of the children who attend the March are genuinely devout and authentically pro-life, but others are only nominally Catholic if Catholic at all. Some are, or soon will become, sexually active. Some are, or soon will become, pregnant. More than a few will abort. Some of them, however, will change their minds because we showed them the indescribable horror of abortion. We have testimonies to prove this.
Ms. Fisher says we should hide the horror of abortion because post-abortive women attend the March. CDC reports that nearly half of all abortions are performed on post-abortive women. Post-abortive women are, therefore, among the women most at risk of aborting. They are, consequently, the women who most need to see the terrible truth, lest they kill again. Many post-abortive women (and men) have told us they now realize that visualizing what they had done forced them to stop trying to rationalize it. Only then were they able to confess and repent, so they could be forgiven and healed.
Ephesians 5:11 commands us to “expose the deeds of darkness,” not to show them only privately nor only as a last resort. Responsibility for the terrible longevity of history’s most horrific slaughter does not rest entirely upon our adversaries. We will be judged for our timidity, perhaps as harshly as they will be judged for their barbarity – by history and by Providence.
Every now and then, we hear the claim that some woman saw our abortion pictures and the resulting grief caused her to take her own life.
We are skeptical of this claim, to say the least. First of all, the claimant never has first-hand knowledge of the alleged suicide; the alleged victim is somebody’s friend’s roommate’s sister’s cousin. Furthermore, we never read about the alleged suicide in the local paper or campus paper.
We have been using abortion imagery continually for twenty-two years. The pro-aborts universally hate and fear us as the source of this tactic. They would destroy us if they could. If there were the slightest credible evidence of even one suicide whose proximate cause could be linked to our imagery, wouldn’t they have come forth with specific allegations to that effect? But they never have, because there has never been such an incident. And even if there were, we will have done all in our power to offer post-abortion women free counseling support and spiritual healing. We show only compassion for post-abortive women, consistently describing them as abortion’s second victim.
The Larger Context
But of course we can’t dismiss the possibility that a post-abortive woman might take her own life. It is possible. But shouldn’t every action be evaluated within the largest possible context?
If we cover up the truth, 1.2 million human beings will be killed, this year and every year from now on.
Women who have aborted are also at greater risk to abort again (source). They are, consequently, the women who most need to see the terrible truth, lest they kill again. Many post-abortive women (and men) have told us they now realize that visualizing what they had done forced them to stop trying to rationalize it. Only then were they able to confess and repent; only then could they be forgiven and healed. Healed people don’t commit suicide; hurting people do.
Pro-life parental involvement laws reduce teen suicide rates (source). Exposing the truth about abortion helps pass this kind of protective legislation.
If a post-abortive woman takes her own life … and we know that too many do … who is at fault?
- Is it the abortion industry, who invaded her body and butchered her child?
- Was it her college professor, who told her that her preborn child was just a blob of tissue?
- Was it her pastor, who knew the truth but covered it up by never showing her pictures of abortion so she would know the truth as well?
- Was it her boyfriend, who threatened her with abandonment if she would not abort their child?
- Was it her parents, who pressured her to abort because they did not want to help raise a grandchild and/or who wanted to avoid embarrassment?
- Was it the political system, which protected the abortion industry from any kind of accountability, so that they could maximize profit at the expense of women and children?
- Was it the education system, which allied itself with Planned Parenthood to tell her that sex on the first date was a good thing if she liked the guy and that having many partners throughout her life was normal?
- Was it the entertainment industry, who taught her boyfriend to believe that he is entitled to sex without responsibility?
- Or was it the pro-lifer who didn’t do enough to warn her of the consequences of abortion, before it was too late?
On April 4, 1945, elements of the United States Army’s 89th Infantry Division and the 4th Armored Division captured the Ohrdruf concentration camp outside the town of Gotha in south central Germany. Although the Americans didn’t know it at the time, Ohrdruf was one of several sub-camps serving the Buchenwald extermination camp, which was close to the city of Weimar several miles north of Gotha. Ohrdruf was a holding facility for over 11,000 prisoners on their way to the gas chambers and crematoria at Buchenwald. A few days before the Americans arrived to liberate Ohrdruf, the SS guards had assembled all of the inmates who could walk and marched them off to Buchenwald. They left in the sub-camp more than a thousand bodies of prisoners who had died of bullet wounds, starvation, abuse, and disease. The scene was an indescribable horror even to the combat-hardened troops who captured the camp. Bodies were piled throughout the camp. There was evidence everywhere of systematic butchery. Many of the mounds of dead bodies were still smoldering from failed attempts by the departing SS guards to burn them. T he stench was horrible.
… During the camp inspections with his top commanders Eisenhower said that the atrocities were “beyond the American mind to comprehend.” He ordered that every citizen of the town of Gotha personally tour the camp and, after having done so, the mayor and his wife went home and hanged themselves.
Was General Eisenhower responsible for these twin suicides? Should he have covered up the Holocaust to protect the emotional wellbeing of those who were complicit in causing or permitting these crimes against humanity? Could the Holocaust ever be understood and future genocide averted if the evidence of past genocide is whitewashed and suppressed?
The pro-aborts are desperate to stop the display of our images and they will use every lie at their disposal to intimidate us into hiding the truth. Don’t let them get away with it … ever.
When funding or timing prevents us from taking our huge GAP display, we can still win hearts, change minds, and save lives by invading campus with a few “Choice” signs! Here we are at Tennessee Tech University (TTU).
This was an excellent target because TTU is another school which allows citizens to reserve space for displays, without requiring a student invitation.
On this day, we identified 5 freshmen willing to form a pro-life club on campus!

VIEWER DISCRETION ADVISED
Make no mistake about it, Planned Parenthood (PP) is coming after your children. See video report below, Hooking Kids on Sex II. (The original version was taken down by YouTube after a complaint by a PP operative.)
Paul Rondeau, Executive Director of the American Life League, authored a report for the Washington Times that described how the sex industry is using your money to promote perverted sex to children as young as kindergarten.
PP is funded with our tax dollars to market sex to our children in our schools under the guise of sex education, anti-bullying, diversity, and tolerance. Once sexualized, those children then become PP sex customers for contraceptives, STD testing, and abortion.
Gay, Lesbian, and Straight Education Network (GLSEN) activist and kindergarten teacher Jaki Williams has said that during kindergarten children are “developing their superego,” and “that’s when the saturation process needs to begin.”
Read Mr. Rondeau’s full article here.
See ALL video report, Hooking Kids on Sex II:
Awesome video produced by Students for Life of America (SFLA) explains how Planned Parenthood’s (PP’s) business model is fueled by promoting sex among teenagers. Key points:
- PP is Big Business that sells one thing, abortion.
- They need to sell as many as they can, so …
- They turn teenage children into loyal customers. First, they start with sex ed programs that promote promiscuity. Then, they sell low-quality contraception to teens, guaranteeing that many of them will contract STDs and get pregnant.
- When the teens return to PP with unplanned pregnancies — unplanned by the teens, but most assuredly planned by PP — PP offers “counseling.” The purpose of the “counseling” is to help PP achieve revenue goals by meeting abortion sales quotas. To sell more abortions, PP sales teams push teens toward abortion and away from parenting and adoption.
- Each abortion sold to a teenager brings in $450.
- Planned Parenthood is about abortion. No matter what.
We know that Planned Parenthood and Big Abortion routinely help child rapists get away with their crimes, in such a way that the abuse can continue undetected. We first became aware of this when Life Dynamics reported on the scandal about 10 years ago.
More recently, Live Action has reported video evidence that Planned Parenthood is still more than willing to help child sexual abusers and even sex traffickers commit and continue their crimes.
Big Abortion’s criminal cover-up continues. Just two recent examples:
In the video report below, produced earlier this year by Life Dynamics, the following statements jumped out:
… girls between 10 and 15 years old are now more likely to be impregnated by adult males than they are by boys near their own ages.
Life Dynamics has documented that virtually no mandatory reporting is being done by the clinics that provide these services. In fact, not only are the people at these facilities almost universally ignoring their states mandatory reporting laws, they often take an active role in circumventing them.
You wonder how this can happen? It’s not just the profit motive. And it’s not just your basic extremist ideological commitment to a woman’s “right” to a safe, legal, and rare abortion. No, it’s even more sinister than that (if that’s even possible). Some … not all, but some … of the people who populate Planned Parenthood and Big Abortion are wholly committed to the notion that any limitation on sexual behavior is unjust, so long as the act is consented to by both … check that … all parties. Even pre-teen children should have unlimited discretion to have sex with whomever they choose, including dirty old men. In their view, anything short of forcible rape is not abuse.
